(Phone: 661/276-2998) RELEASE: c02-t NASA ANNOUNCES DRYDEN SERVICES CONTRACT AWARD NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards, Calif., has awarded Arcata Associates, North Las Vegas, Nev., a contract to perform research-facilities and engineering support services. Arcata, a certified small business, will team with Lockheed Martin Technical Services, Seabrook, Md., and Capitol Resource Management, Salinas, Calif., to provide ongoing services at Dryden. The contract will include operation of the Western Aeronautical Test Range, Web and data- base design and development, and multimedia support to include in-flight photography and video production. Additionally, the contract will include engineering and operations support for the Walt Williams Research Aircraft Integration Facility, with a provision for further developmental engineering support. The contract has a two-year basic performance period beginning August 1, 2002, with a value of $23.7 million. Also included are four additional two-year priced options through July 31, 2012, for a total award of approximately $135 million. Dryden is NASA's installation for aeronautical flight research. It is located on the western edge of the Mojave Desert, 80 miles north of Los Angeles. - end -
