Sights and Sounds from and Aeroacoustic Engineerby Stephen M. Jaeger Wednesday 18, 1998 This page contains audio and video files that can be listened to and/or viewed with the software RealAudio or RealPlayer. You can download this for free. The quality of the playback will be highly dependent on the performance of your computer and the speed of your network/modem connection. In many cases, older systems will be unable to support playback. As a rule of thumb you need to have connectivity equivalent to a 14.4Kbps modem or higher for real audio files and connectivity equivalent to a 28.8 Kbps modem to view real media files which are both video and audio. Play a recording I made of a jet engine in the wind tunnel. On this recording the jet engine sound is followed by a low frequency sound and a high frequency sound recorded. View a Real Media recording of me being interviewed by Alan Federman, Quest webmaster, in the 7 by 10' wind tunnel at NASA Ames. The first thing you'll see is an array of microphones (it has a bit of a spiderweb look.) |
