Great idea to use the screw attached to the paintbrush!  Very clever to design your experiment to cover less surface area but potentially more depth.  When you run your experiments, how do you plan to measure the angle of impact where the screw hits the "lunar" surface?  How will you measure the amount of material that is excavated by your impact?
