Bio - Paul Rosen,
SRTM Real Time Science Team Member

Paul Rosen is presently supervisor of the Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar Algorithms and System Analysis Group. He has been supervisor since 1995, and a member of the technical staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) since 1992. Dr. Rosen's assignments at JPL include independent scientific and engineering research in methods and applications of interferometric SAR. He has developed interferometric SAR processors for airborne topographic mapping systems, as well as topographic and deformation processors for spaceborne sensors including SRTM. Dr. Rosen has developed and promoted scientific applications of differential interferometry, including crustal deformation mapping and hazard assessment. He is the Project Element Manager for the development of topography generation algorithms for SRTM. Prior to JPL, Dr. Rosen worked at Kanazawa University, Kanazawa, Japan studying wave propagation in plasmas, and the dynamics and observations of Saturn's rings.
