Peggy Motes

The Quest Project Celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King's Birthday



On January 15, 1998, Peggy Motes, Director of the Muncie Community Schools Planetarium, in Muncie, Indiana, provided us with this video and some activities. The materials included an elementary, middle and high school lesson on how the North Star, Polaris, was used to guide slaves to freedom. The content for the activities will be drawn from the song "Follow the Drinking Gourd." Peggy has provided an Educator's Guide to the materials.
