Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS)

Clementine probe Clementine: The Clementine spacecraft was the first mission to provide possible evidence of water ice within some of the Moon's craters.
Lunar Prospector Lunar Prospector: In addition to mapping the Moon's surface composition, measuring lunar gravity and magnetism, and studying outgassing events, this tiny spacecraft provided the first direct evidence of water ice at the Moon's poles.
LRO image Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter: an unmanned mission to create a comprehensive atlas of the Moon’s features and resources to aid in the design of a lunar outpost.
