LCROSS Presentation at PAS MEETING
The July 11 meeting of the Peninsula Astronomical Society will feature
a presentation of the LCROSS mission. The presentation will provide
a mission overview and a description of how amateur astronomers can
participate in this exciting mission. Meeting is at 7:30 PM in room
5051 at Foothill College, Los Altos Hills, CA. Presentation by Brian
Day.

Mom, Dad, It's Not a Joke, I'm Working a NASA Mission to the Moon
Sounds like a big exaggeration but it's not. GAVRT students
will soon be contributing to an actual NASA space mission by helping
supplement spacecraft telemetry data received by the LCROSS mission
operations team, as LCROSS makes a series of looping orbits around
the Earth before impacting the lunar surface. Read

LCROSS Presentation at AAS/ASP Conference
LCROSS Mission and E/PO program featured at AAS/ASP conference in St
Louis. LCROSS will be featured in NASA's efforts supporting the International
Year of Astronomy. Amateur astronomers will learn how they can engage
the public in the LCROSS mission during the "Amateur Astronomers
as Champions of the IYA" workshop on Saturday, May 31.

On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. PST, NASA Ames will
host a 'Return to the Moon Family Night.' The evening's activities will
highlight the roles of NASA and Ames Research Center in conducting robotic
missions that serve as the vanguard of future Moon missions.
Family Night activities and exhibits will include:
• animated videos
• Moon rocks display
• robotic rover demonstrations
• kids activities
• telescope viewing of the lunar surface
• presentations from LCROSS experts and scientists.
This event is free of charge and open to the general public.
