Hi Gayle, Sorry I haven't been able to stop in the past couple of weeks.
Work has gotten very busy. And now my prospects of being able to stay the
entire hour, in the future, don't look good.
My manager has set up a weekly meeting on Wednesdays at 1:30. So I will
probably only be able to hang around for a portion of the first half.

We've been quite involved with the LFA2 program. The kids love the
penguins!

We made penguins out of clear plastic pop bottles. We crumpled up scrap
white paper and stuffed the bottles, then I made a pattern to make the
black head, back and wings. I'll be putting the design on Aunt Annies
craft page soon.

I've been really busy with outreach advocating, going to promote the PTK
programs all over the place.

My sister-in-law homeschools and is interested in the programs so I'll
be visiting her to explain them to her group.

We have a whole slew of new homeschoolers whose kids are in the 9-14 age
range and this really peaks their interest.

The network seems to be very busy. My browser keeps timing out. As for
LFA2, I haven't even had time to check out what is going on. As for MTO,
on our last meeting night, I tried to sidetrack and have a star/planet
observation night. (I wanted the kids to see Saturn before it gets harder
to observe.) The evening didn't go very well. Not enough crowd control.

Marc, if you're out there, could you please see that the word "master" is
removed from the blurb about this chat as it might tend to make
homeschoolers avoid this. Although I am flattered by it, it
really doesn't apply to me and I don't think I know of anyone in
homeschooling who it might apply to, except of course the heroes of
homeschooling, like the Moore's and Colfax's. And even then
they would never refer to themselves like that. Thanks again, but I think
it gives the wrong impression. Don't you agree, Don?

One last message... I saw your note on "master." I have to agree. I just
completed a course on composting that is put on by the state. Upon
completing of it we were "given" master composter status. It sounds/feels
so awkward. So, I have to agree with you, Gayle. (Now I'm really going to
be late for my meeting...)
