Our holidays went well. I was able to take a week off of work. The whole
family got rollerblades for Christmas, so we are all discovering muscles
that have never been used before.

You say that Live From Antarctica II is starting. I haven't checked into
what they will be doing yet. I am swamped enough with MTO as it is. I
think that my kids and I will just take an observational view of LFA II.

I just got back to going to the Y to work out now after 2 weeks of
visiting and being visited.

I found a great book at the library this morning. Isaac Asimov's Library
of the Universe, "Projects in Astronomy". Project 2 is 'Creating a Martian
Landscape' using the tray and water activity.

I've just printed off the LFA2 Update #1 and I'm in it. I've been asked
to serve as the Canadian Distribution Agent for PTK. So my address and
info is in there for ordering information. I'm very excited about this. I
can't wait to start.

Sorry, I'm back. I just got two lengthy phone calls. Since I am at work,
I figured I probably should take care of that. I had another class last
night. We are doing activity 1.2. Last night we made our shoe-box
landscapes. Next week we will switch boxes and measure/probe the
contents.

experiments while exploring the density relationship between Mars and
Earth.

GMT) I'll be taking the PTK Kit I have (which has bits and pieces from
several different programs) to the school board soon to introduce it to
them. We will have to have several more schools locally involved before
we'll be able to get our local cable (equivalent to PBS) to show them.
We'll also have to put somethings in writing to the PBS stations to see if
we can convince them to carry them Live.

GMT) Well were taking balls inflated and deflated and weighing them to see
if they weigh the same amount. Do you have any other suggestions I could
use some :)

GMT) It's difficult to try to explain to 5 year olds but It is my
difficulty not theirs, they understand things well if I know how to
present them properly. Trying to explain that just because the earth is
almost twice the size of Mars, does not mean the gravity is that
difference as well.

Off-hand, I don't have any suggestions. I will give it some thought
though. Out of curiousity, does a ball actually weigh differently
depending on if it is inflated or deflated. I wouldn't expect it to.
