Rat Habitat
Submitted by Pablo, Montgomery High School
Pablo did his own rat habitat (Pablorat.gif). One side of the habitat
is screens with ventilator fans blowing through them. The other side has
carbon to absorb wastes and odors. Water is in bottles with nipples. As
the rat drinks a spring makes the bottle smaller so that the water is
always under pressure. The water is found in the outer ring. There is
another passageway with food adhered to the surface. There is another
passageway where the rats are to go to the bathroom. The entrances to
each passage way are rubber through which the rats must squeeze. When
they leave the waste passageway there is a brush which will clean them
off. The central area is a place to sleep.
