Meet: Albert Hung
Freshman at MIT ( Gunn High School Graduate)
What I do at NASA
I am a graphic designer. Most of the time I draw illustrations by hand
which I then scan into the computer and touch up. For instance, they'll
say "draw a rocket!" and I'll draw a rocket. I'm also helping to develop
the "Spacetoon" cartoon with Geoff Chu. We get to decide what is in the
cartoon as long as it won't offend anyone. I also sometimes help with
developing new experiments.
How I got this job
I saw a notice on the job board at school where job opportunities and
internships are posted. My dad works here so transportation wasn't a problem
for me. The life sciences and space are mainly what attracted me. I like
science in general, but really this just sounded like a cool job.
Other things I find interesting
I ran cross-country and track for Gunn.
In the fall, I will be attending MIT. I'm not sure what I want to major
in yet. Some sort of engineering probably -- electrical engineering or
chemical engineering.
I used to play violin and piano, but not anymore. I also like to garden.
My family has a garden which I help with and I'm also part of the organic
garden at Gunn.
I have this other part-time job to do technical writing for this startup
company. I haven't really done much so far. They want me to write a manual
for a piece of software that they have developed.
Finally, I can do a British accent, and I can wiggle my ears.
