Technicians continue with closeout work inside Endeavour's crew module. The orbiter will be lowered on jacks later today in preparation for routine weight and center of gravity tests. Endeavour will be mated to the external tank and solid rocket boosters later this week. In the Space Station Processing Facility, the Multi-purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) hatch leak checks and external closeouts began today MISSION: STS-109 - HST Servicing Mission 3B VEHICLE: Columbia/OV-102 TARGET KSC LAUNCH DATE/TIME: Feb. 14, 2002 at 1:43 p.m. EST TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: Feb. 25, 2002 at 11:40 a.m. MISSION DURATION: 11 days CREW: Altman, Carey, Grunsfeld, Currie, Newman, Linnehan, Massimino ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 308 nautical miles/28.5 degrees Shuttle Processing Note: Over the weekend, technicians completed alignment work on the pilot's heads up display unit. Testing of the orbiter's waste containment system continue and auxiliary power unit strut inspections are in work. Routine electrical validation of Columbia's orbital maneuvering system continue. Workers are upgrading the orbiter's mass memory units and performing a monoball wiring harness enhancement. Atlantis will resume powered work in mid-December. STRUCTURAL INSPECTION & MODIFICATION PERIOD VEHICLE: Discovery/OV-103 Shuttle Processing Note: Orbiter Discovery is expected to leave temporary storage later this week. The orbiter is scheduled to begin a thorough structural inspection and modification period.
