MISSION: STS-109 - HST Servicing Mission 3B VEHICLE: Columbia/OV-102 TARGET KSC LAUNCH DATE: Feb. 28, 2002 TARGET KSC LANDING DATE: March 11, 2002 MISSION DURATION: 11 days CREW: Altman, Carey, Grunsfeld, Currie, Newman, Linnehan, Massimino ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 308 nautical miles/28.5 degrees Shuttle Processing Note: The rollout of Shuttle Columbia from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to Pad A was postponed this morning because of a steering problem detected in the crawler-transporter shortly after it left High Bay 3 at 7:48 a.m. The problem was identified as a faulty bearing in the steering linkage of Power Truck Drive D. The bearing will be replaced and verified later today. The rollout has been rescheduled to Thursday morning, Jan. 24. Payload Processing Note: Yesterday in the Vertical Processing Facility, the radiator associated with the NICMOS Cryogenic Cooler was installed on the Multi-lightweight Equipment Carrier (MULE). Also, members of the STS-109 flight crew began an inspection of the HST flight hardware today. The Reaction Wheel Assembly is scheduled to arrive at KSC the first week of February. MISSION: STS-110 - 13th ISS Flight (8A) - ITS SO TRUSS AND MOBILE TRANSPORTER VEHICLE: Atlantis/OV-104 TARGET KSC LAUNCH DATE: NET April 4, 2002 TARGET KSC LANDING DATE: April 15, 2002 MISSION DURATION: 11 days CREW: Bloomfield, Frick, Ross, Smith, Ochoa, Morin, Walheim ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles/51.6 degrees Shuttle Processing Note: The Payload Pre-mate test is underway on Shuttle Atlantis in its bay in the Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF). Engine No.3 was removed yesterday after a flawed sealing surface was discovered on a main fuel valve. A replacement engine will be installed tomorrow. The left hand Orbital Maneuvering System (OMS) pod has been removed to permit inspection of attach point No. 5 and make repairs, if necessary. MISSION: STS-111 - 14th ISS flight (UF2) - MPLM VEHICLE: Endeavour/OV-105 TARGET LAUNCH DATE: May 2, 2002 TARGET KSC LANDING DATE: May 13, 2002 CREW: Cockrell, Lockhart, Chang-Diaz, Perrin; (ISS up) Korzun, Whitson, Treschev; (ISS down) Onufrienko, Bursch, Walz ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles/51.6 degrees Shuttle Processing Note: The main engines of Shuttle Endeavour were removed in the OPF on Monday. The Master Events Controller/Pyro Initiator Controller (MEC/PIC) test is in work and preparations are underway for the fuel cell voltage test. STRUCTURAL INSPECTION & MODIFICATION PERIOD VEHICLE: Discovery/OV-103 Shuttle Processing Note: Orbiter Discovery is in temporary storage in a high bay of the Vehicle Assembly Building awaiting a decision by Shuttle managers on the content, schedule and location for the structural inspection and modification down period.
