ISS SPACEWALKS TO BE BROADCAST ON NASA TELEVISION

     Two spacewalks from the International Space Station, 
slated for August 16 and 23, will be covered live on NASA 
Television.

The live NASA Television coverage will include commentary on 
the spacewalks, to be conducted by the Expedition Five crew 
aboard the International Space Station.

Coverage of the first spacewalk, to be carried out by 
Commander Valery Korzun and Flight Engineer Peggy Whitson, 
will begin at 3 a.m. EDT August 16. The spacewalk is designed 
to install micrometeoroid debris shields on the Zvezda 
Service Module and to change out experiments measuring 
residue emitted from Zvezda's jet thrusters.

The second spacewalk, by Korzun and Flight Engineer Sergei 
Treschev on August 23, is designed to swap out Japanese 
experiments measuring the effect of the space environment on 
a variety of materials and to install two additional amateur 
radio antennas on Zvezda. Coverage of the second spacewalk 
will begin at midnight EDT August 23.

Both spacewalks are expected to last about six hours. 
Commentary will originate from the International Space 
Station flight control room at the Johnson Space Center, 
Houston, with available downlink television from cameras on 
the station's Canadarm2 robotic arm.

NASA TV can be found on GE-2, Transponder 9C, vertical 
polarization at 85 degrees West longitude, 3880 MHz, with 
audio at 6.8 MHz.
