Meet: Tom Benson

I'm a research engineer here at NASA Glenn. I've been an engineer for almost 30 years now and have worked on a lot of interesting problems over the years. I'm an aeronautical engineer, and all of the problems I've worked with have involved some aspects of fluid mechanics. Early in my career, I was involved with wind tunnel testing, but for most of my career I have used computers to study fluid mechanics. Most recently, I've been developing computer programs for students to use to increase their knowledge of math and science. You can check out my college software and get your own copies of the programs -- FOR FREE! I'm currently working with the Learning Technologies Project (http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/K-12) to develop programs, Web sites, and distance learning broadcasts to use aerodynamics to help high school and middle school students do better in science and math.
