Virtual Conference

On March 3 you will be able to be a part of the activities in
Washington DC via the Internet.

Preparing To Be A Remote Participant

If you have not already joined the mail list, we encourage you to do so. The purpose of the list is to provide information that will help you plan for the event.

At the Virtual Conference you will have access to:

  • The Graphics that are presented in the auditorium.
  • A RealAudio signal of the presentations being given in the auditorium.
  • A WebChat room for you to ask questions to the presenters in Washington.
  • A Transcript of the auditorium presentations. (This transcript is provided in the instance that you cannot establish or maintain a reliable RealAudio signal. The transcript will be presented through a Web Chat room.)
  • An Electronic Mail address for your questions.

Planned Technology Tests

We plan to conduct at least two online tests. The tests will allow you to try all of the technologies that you will use during the Virtual Conference. The dates and times of these tests will be announced on the Pioneer10 mail list.

We will also conduct weekly WebChats that will allow you to practice using WebChat. If you are not able to attend one of these test chats you may want to attend one of our weekly Live From Mars WebChats with scientists and engineers working on the Mars Missions.

We encourage you to download and/or test the RealAudio client. It is free software and available for most desktop platforms.

We hope you and your classroom join us for this exciting online event!
