Mysteries of Microbes:
Join NASA Quest and the NASA Astrobiology Institute in doing some Fascinating Fieldwork! Entitled Mysteries of Microbes, this event will include a series of webcasts and student participation in an investigation that will last eight weeks.
Students engage in two live webcasts introducing Astrobiologists' fieldwork study of microbial mats. Students will then interact with active astrobiologists in a forum as they compare and contrast their own investigation methods with those of astrobiologists studying microbial mats in Baja, California. Students will conclude with a third follow-up webcast on the results and conclusions of both investigations.
We encourage students to create web pages of their discoveries, which we may air during one of our webcasts. A note to teachers and parents supervising students: Please read NASA Quest's Online Privacy policy. We cannot posts URLs that include children's photos, last names, addresses, school addresses, cities and zip codes.
