Our electromagnetic crane is made out of cardboard, corrugated cardboard, string, copper wire, a thread spool, paint, a tennis ball, and an iron nail. It is powered by a 9-volt battery.

To move the PSA, we pull the battery that is in the crane backwards and forward. To lift the PSA we wind up the string on the thread spool.

When you place the alligator clips onto the 9-volt battery, it immediately becomes electrically charged and the paper clips will be able to stick to the nail. Therefore, we will be able to move the paperclips to different areas.
