To me, teaching science is just as interesting as learning it. My undergraduate studies were in physics, my graduate studies in molecular and cellular biology, and my first work experience was in building a discovery room (an interactive learning project). Then I went into teaching. My first concern when I introduce a new subject to young adolescents is to keep the “WOW!|” effect operating - even through the rationalization process of the scientific method. The most attractive part of this method to young human minds is by far being able to predict what will happen in the future.

During the summer of 2008, I will be a participant in the Educators in the North project and will travel with members of the field party to Axel Heiberg Island, Nunavut.
