High School Physics and Earth/Space Science Teacher, Chico, CA

I teach both Physics and College Prep. Earth and Space science at Pleasant Valley High School in Chico.  I am also a graduate student, working on my project thesis for a Master’s Degree.  I have finished my coursework and now I’m writing the project/thesis.  Interestingly enough, my project research is focused around Lassen Volcanic National Park.

In addition to teaching at the high school level, I am very involved with teacher education programs, mainly in science education.  I have been a teacher-leader in the California Science Project as well as a cooperating teacher for student teaching. 

I am very excited about this Spaceward Bound opportunity, both with what I can contribute as well as what I will use in my classroom, and what I can share with other educators in this region.

Outside of the professional realm, I have a wonderful family of 6.  I enjoy running (I coach it also), music, cooking, hiking, and computers.
