Ben Corbin
MDRS Spaceward Bound Crew 53

– Ben Corbin was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and has always had a deep passion for science and space. He is both a manly outdoorsman and a distinguished gentleman, and is quite possibly the only academic/science bowl team captain to be elected Prom King.

Ben is currently enrolled in the University of Central Florida as an Aerospace Engineering major, but is also earning minors in Math, Physics, Space Studies, and Astronomy. He has no definite plans for grad school yet but hopes to earn his doctorate. He is a member of both the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Student for the Exploration and Development of Space at UCF. He earned his private pilot’s license and will start on his instrument rating someday.

Ben is also doing research at UCF on the Flamespeed Project, measuring the temperature, pressure, and speed at which pressurized gases ignite and propagate. This is his first research endeavor. When he’s not writing his own biographies, Ben can be found reading, playing video games, listening to music, working out, ballroom dancing, building/designing something, writing stand-up comedy routines, or doing something completely different.
