I grew up in Syracuse, NY and graduated from the University of Rochester with undergraduate degrees in chemistry and political science. I worked as a chemical research scientist before beginning teaching. I now teach high school chemistry and physiology at Youth Empowerment School in Oakland while I am earning my teaching credential at SFSU.

I’m primarily interested in ocean chemistry and climate change, and I try to get my students excited about that, too.
