Hello my name is Justina Montez.  I am currently a Math and Science Teacher Initiative Fellow with a major in Biochemistry at San Francisco State University.

For the longest time, I thought that I would have to choose between science and working with young people.  Becoming a science teacher would accomplish both of these passions.  This program would be a great experience to not only actively participate in the field, but to bring these experiences with me to the classroom in the future.

Some of my teaching experience includes various tutoring sessions helping young people with their science and math homework.  Also, I regularly volunteer at an alternative high school for pregnant teens and mothers.

In my spare time, I enjoy social work, embroidery, reading and hanging out at the park.
