April 7, Group Activity report from Bill, Mohsen, John and Fatma.

Bill, Mohsen and John went with Jim Thompson.  They took thermal imaging and visual pictures of the opening of a cave and worked their way up to the top of the hill, taking images and pictures every hundred meters.  

On the other hand Fatma went with Elaine Bryant to take soil samples from seven different field sites in the dessert. They only got five, because their vehicle got stock in the sand while they were trying to find the sixth site.  So Elaine's group had to wait for Jim and his crew to come and pull them out the sand using his truck and a metal chain.

And that was the end of our first adventure in the Mojave dessert.
