Aerospace Engineering Student
California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA

I am an Aerospace Engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona. I enjoy building radio controlled planes and am fascinated by space and how much we can still learn and explore. Exploring is something I am very passionate about and have grabbed my backpack on numerous occasions to go experience all of the beauty and wonder that is just outside of my little world.

This Spring Break I joined Spaceward Bound in the Mojave Desert. Our goal was to explore the desert’s extreme environment, and investigate the possibility of finding life on other planets with environments analogous to this one. This was an experience that I will never forget. Not only was I able to work with various scientists who’s passion for their work was inspiring but I was also able to participate in a short research paper on the anode effects on microbial fuel cell efficiency which was later published. Since my Spaceward Bound experience, I have been more focused and more excited about my studies. I hope to one day inspire others as this wonderful group of leaders has inspired me.
