Landing to Launch

OPF photo

Part 3: Orbiter Processing Facility

With Space Shuttle Discovery and Space Shuttle Endeavour in the Orbiter Processing Facility preparing for possible December and January launches, Brand Secosh and Mike Ciannilli toured the OPF and will share footage from that visit with you for this exciting segment of the Landing to Launch series.

While the orbiters are in the OPF, platforms, a main access bridge and two rolling bridges provide access to various parts of the orbiter allowing for routine postflight servicing and checkout. They interviewed personnel that are involved in the careful inspections and processing following the recent discovery of maintenance-related damage to electrical wiring in the Space Shuttle that you've probably read about in the news.

Join Mike and Brandt on Wednesday, November 17, as they take you inside the Orbiter Processing Facility and talk with some of the people who work there. You can ask questions for them to answer live during the broadcast if you have
