The Great Mars Debate

During this conference, one of our Young Women of NASA reporters, video interviewed select scientists. These brief videos together with background and supporting materials provide the basis for the debate. Educational lesson plans and curriculum resources are also included.
After reviewing the provided resources, you are invited to participate in the debate and/or webcast. Participants will have the opportunity to dialogue with other students and post their views and positions at any time over the course of the week. Educators, also attending the conference and well versed in the issues will moderate the discussion.
The weeklong debate culminates in a live interactive webcast on Friday, 2/9 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. ET. This webcast is hosted by our young reporter and feature three female Mars experts from our Women of NASA project They will discuss the mission background, constraints and engineering issues, the Rovers, and conference discussions. Our scientists have also created a Concept Map specifically for this project to help in your research. The scientists will also review the debate dialogue.
