Meet: Stephen Fuslier

Space Plasma Physicist
Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Center
Palo Alto, California
Stephen Fuselier received his PhD in Space Plasma Physics
from the University of Iowa in 1984. After two years as a post-doctoral student
at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, he joined the Space Physics Laboratory
at the Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Center in Palo Alto, California.
In addition to authoring more than 100 scientific papers,
Stephen is a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the 1995 recipient
of the AGU James B.Macelwane award for "significant contributions to the geophysical
sciences by a young scientist of outstanding ability." Stephen has been involved
in all phases of the IMAGE project since the original proposal was submitted in
1995. In addition to IMAGE, he has worked on and is currently working on several
other space physics projects.
When he's not working, Stephen enjoys traveling with his
wife, son (14) and daughter (8) as well as participating in many outdoor activities
including backpacking, hiking, fishing, swimming, volleyball, bicycling, canoeing,
kayaking and last but not least, astronomy!
